There was an awkward silence as Shawn and his pokemon sat at the table, awaiting their food. He was so hungry, he felt he could have taken on the Kangaskahn challenge. The Lucky Farfetch'd had an 'eat this massive portion and get on our wall of fame' event, in which they cook up an extra large portion of 5 meals on the menu. If a participant consumed it all within a time limit, he would have his bill waived and have his photo on the wall of fame. Shawn laughed quietly to himself at the thought. That's one way to get a stomach ache. Maybe another time.
“Here you are, Sir,” a familiar voice began, “Sorry for the wait, I hope you enjoy your meals.” It was the pretty waitress. She was a bit more composed this time, but her face was still flushed and she didn't seem very confident. Shawn smiled at her.
“Thank you very much, uh,” he looked at her name tag, “Jessie. What a cute name.”

Monday. Yes, it was Monday, the start of a new week, and the first day of work after a short-lived weekend. The alarm clock went off at 6:30am, emitting a shrill and incredibly annoying noise. Shawn opened his eyes, and quickly silenced it. It was cold this morning, being mid-November, and it would only get colder as winter set in. He began to doze again, one arm hanging out the bed, until a familiar, soft warmth bobbed over to him, and brushed against his fingers.
“Hey buddy,” Shawn muttered, opening his eyes again. One of his Growlithe had shoved his fluffy face into his hand, asking for pets and morning greetings. It looked at him with happy eyes, then proceeded to lick the inside of his owner's hand. Being a fire type, Growlithe had an elevated body temperature, and his tongue was almost too warm to bear.
